What this site knows about you

In one line: this site collects nothing about you, and it asks nothing of anyone else on your behalf.

There are no accounts, no forms, no comments and no newsletter. There is no advertising, no affiliate link and no sponsorship. There is no analytics of any kind. There are no cookies, and nothing is written to your browser's storage. There is no JavaScript on any page of this site, so there is nothing that could do any of those things without being visible in the page source.

Who is responsible

Filing Room is published by Abhishekkumar(Abhi) Rai, an individual, in Berlin, Germany. The platform is intended to transfer to an Indian limited liability partnership once that is incorporated. When it does, this page will name the partnership and its registered office, and the change will be dated here rather than made quietly.

What the site loads

Every page is HTML and CSS served from this domain. Fonts are served from this domain too. Nothing on a page is fetched from a third party, so no third party learns that you visited, what you read, or what your IP address is.

Card images, when the site publishes them, are served from cards.filingroom.in, which is also ours.

What the hosting provider sees

The site is served by Cloudflare, using Pages for the pages and R2 for images. Like any web host, Cloudflare receives the technical information your browser sends in order to deliver a page: your IP address, the page requested, the time, your user agent, and similar. This happens for any website you visit and it is how the internet works.

Cloudflare processes that data on our behalf, retains it for a short period for security and operational purposes, and we do not use it to build any profile, do not combine it with anything else, and do not read it except when investigating abuse of the site. We do not export it, sell it or share it.

We have no other processor. There is no analytics platform, no tag manager, no session recorder, no A/B testing service and no customer data platform, because there are no users to record.

If you write to us

If you email us, we have your email address and whatever you chose to put in the message. We keep it for as long as it takes to deal with it and, where a correction results from it, for as long as the correction stays on the record page, because the record of a correction is the point.

We will not add you to anything. There is nothing to be added to.

Your rights

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation, and under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have rights over personal data relating to you: to know what is held, to obtain a copy, to have it corrected, to have it erased, and to object to its processing. You may also complain to a supervisory authority.

In practice we hold almost nothing. The honest answer to most requests will be that we have server logs at the host, held briefly, which we cannot connect to a person. If you have written to us, we have that email. Write to hello@filingroom.in and we will tell you exactly what there is and, if you ask, delete it.

The legal basis for the little that is processed is legitimate interest in operating and securing a website, under Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. Nothing here relies on consent, because nothing here needs it.

Children

The site is written for adults making financial decisions. It is not directed at children and it collects nothing from anyone.

Data leaving the EU

Nothing leaves, because nothing is collected. There is no personal data here to transfer anywhere.

The only information that exists at all is what your browser sends in order to fetch a page, which the host handles to deliver it and nothing else. Cloudflare serves each reader from the location nearest to them.

Changes

Material changes to this page will be dated. The site publishes its own corrections as a matter of policy, and that applies here too.
